“A wonderful time away with some lovely Muslim company. The stunning views create a peaceful and stimulating atmosphere. The activities range from light fun to all out exhilarating. This is my first trip with MFA, and I'd definitely consider going again!” - Junayd Ul Islam, Cambridge

“I loved every moment of the Lake District Blencathra Adventure with the MFA. Had an amazing time. It is a tad-bit easier to participate in the unknown and go outside of your comfort zone when done in a group. And that's what MFA helped to do! I went mountain biking for the first time in my life and had the time of my life - alhamdulillah! Thanks to MFA :-)”

— Fatima Eva, Birmingham

“Without MFA I would not have had the opportunity to venture to the Lake District for more than a day where I would only walk by the lakeside, have an ice cream or snack before returning home. MFA allowed me to feel confident with a sense of security. I was given a chance to meet new people, make lifelong friends and to participate in challenges I once was only able to dream of. Thank you to Faisal for forming MFA and giving us all this opportunity to come together and to enjoy ourselves. Looking forward to joining future events.”

FAQs

  • It is suitable for any age as there are a variety of activities to suit every age and interest. Most activities are done as a group, following a suggested itinerary, but families can choose to do their own thing (alone or with their friends) if they wish. The arrangement is flexible to cater for the needs of different family setups (for example, families with infants or elderly). We would love for everyone to join the activities but we leave it to the families to decide.

  • We use hostel-style accommodation as it gives the greatest flexibility and the freedom to use it as a base for the adventures. The rooms are private and would generally have bunk beds, sometimes with on-suite facilities. Everything else in the centre is shared, including the kitchen, bathrooms, dining and various lounges and common rooms. The centres are exclusively hired by MFA and the facilities will only be used by us. All bed linen is provided. All you need to bring is a towel and toiletries for your stay.

• People make their own way either via private or public transport. They will also require transportation during the adventure to get by places. Once people join, they can also explore car sharing options.

  • The adventures are on a self-catering basis, so the food is each family’s responsibility. People manage food with a combination of following options:

    (a) Pre-cook at home, freeze and bring them to the centre. There are enough fridge/freezer facilities at the centre to store them. The food can then be reheated whenever required.

    (b) Cook food at the centre. The centres come with large fully equipped kitchens with cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. All you need to bring are the groceries. You can also share food/cooking with friends and families who join the adventure.

    (c) Eat out or get delivered from local halal restaurants and takeaways. There are also supermarkets and convenient-stores around for any ready-made or easily-prepared food.

    (d) In some of our adventures, a catered option is provided for a small additional price. You can specify this choice when you book, and if there is enough demand we will have a full-time chef for the duration of the adventure preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Check-in is from 4pm on the day of arrival. We recognise people may have work until 5pm on that day, so we make allowances for late arrivals, often up to midnight. Check-out is by 10am on the day of departure. However, we usually spend time after check-out until about 4pm in some activities before we depart.

  • Once you book, you will be sent an email confirmation and invited to join a private Telegram group for the adventure. All communication after will be via the group. There will be a briefing and introduction meeting on the morning of the following day of arrival. Similarly, there will be a farewell meeting on the morning of departure. You will also be sent information packs and the suggested itinerary well in advance to prepare for the adventure.

  • You can please have a look at the About, Adventures and Activities sections of this website. You can also please visit the MFA Facebook and MFA Instagram pages. You can also join the MFA Telegram Group for updates and discussions with over 600 members.
