Who Holds the Plane Up in the Sky?

As we marvel at the ease of modern air travel, it’s worth pausing to reflect on the power behind it all. The Quran asks us to consider:

“Do they not see the birds made to fly through the air in the sky? Nothing holds them up except God. There truly are signs in this for those who believe.” (Surah An-Naḥl 16:79)

The laws of aerodynamics and the universe work in harmony to allow flight, but who created these laws? Allah, in His infinite wisdom, designed a system where every element submits to His command. Planes remain aloft because of the principles He set in motion, just as birds soar through the skies by His will.

When we travel, we should reflect on the perfection of Allah’s creation and express gratitude to the One who enables our journeys and showers us with countless blessings. Each flight is a reminder of His mercy, power, and the interconnected beauty of His universe.
